Our hosts were a delight. They exceeded every expectation related to accommodation. It seemed like we had an entire house at or disposal. We found that we shared a love of visual arts. Both John and Ping are wonderful artists. John recommended excellent restaurants nearby.

The bedrooms were very comfortable and we could relax in our own living room. The hosts were very helpful. The house was located in a quiet cul de sac.

We Germans don't use the word "amazing" very often. But that experience really was just that. If you're looking for a cozy place and tons of ideas for your New Zealand trip, this is the place to stay after you finish a long flight. Thanks to our hosts John, Ping and Lucy. "Es war sehr gut" ;-).

The B&B is in a nice residential neighbourhood, close to CHC airport. We have early morning flight therefore a good choice. It is a beautiful house with a wonderful garden. The bedroom opens to the garden. Hosts are nice and greets you every time, and can give you good restaurant suggestions. Breakfast is simple with juice, yogurt, cereals, milk, toast and jam, and some canned fruits. Overall very quiet. Small dog in the house who is very friendly. Bathroom has a spa bath although we did not use. Adjoining bedroom (share the bathroom), so if you have children tagging along the arrangement is ideal.

Perfectly clean, meticulously maintained and organized place. Spacious rooms with magnificent garden veiw, comfortable bed, nice breakfast. The hosts are wonderful! We are so glad we stayed there while in Christchurch! Thank you so much, John and Ping!

Excellent location, quiet neighborhood, convenient to airport. John and Ping were excellent hosts. Lovely home. Excellent Wi-Fi, healthy moderate breakfast (I like a hot breakfast, but rarely eat that much). The continental breakfast was very good.

We had 2 rooms for our family which had a spacious bathroom in-between. This worked out well. Continental breakfast was lovely. Our hosts interestingly did artwork, had a beautiful garden area and a cute wee dog.

Olive House was great. It was the perfect choice for beginning our travels through the south island. John and Ping were wonderful hosts. They were very helpful with information on Christchurch and its environs. The accommodation was very spacious. While the house is located on the outskirts of the city, the bus service to and from downtown was very convenient -- the bus stop is just a couple of minutes walk away. The airport is not too far away as well. There was room to park our rental car.

Olive House is a lovely private residence in a northern suburb of Christchurch...about half an hour to the Port Hills. The bedrooms were well appointed and beds very comfortable, and we also had use of a separate lounge and outside garden area. The hosts are very friendly, and their little dog Lucy is a delight. If you enjoy chatting with a local, or having a little quiet downtime, this is a great option.

Olive House is a very warm, homely place and John is a wonderful, friendly host. The location is convenient to the airport, the city and Johns recommendations for restaurants were great. Thank you for making us feel welcome and at home. Brett also, loved that you found AFL games for him to watch.

The comfortability of the room, beauty of the house and great breafast in the super beautiful dining hall.The hospitality of the host John and Ping defintely is the plus plus point, so freindly and helpful. We stayed one night but had such a great talk like meeting old friends. Wonderful stay!
